Banregio’s new short film takes form in the body of a digital collage. This technique is to design what sampling is to music, where a new composition is assembled by cutting and pasting elements from diverse sources. In this film, we portray a whimsical world through the blend of multiple creative visual components: drawings, photography, classical paintings, and geometry. Contrasting with live-action videos, we see the revival of collage as one of the most beautiful, low-cost, disruptive, and sustainable ways to produce new visual languages in a post-COVID world.
